According to the latest Allianz Risk Barometer cyberattacks are the number one business risks, ahead of business and supply chain disruptions. Small and medium-sized organizations are also disproportionately frequent victims of ransomware attacks, reports the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in the 2023 State of IT Security Report.
For the automotive industry, this means that not only large OEMs, but suppliers and all those involved in after-sales must increasingly address cyber and information security. Not as an optional extra, but as a duty. In their own interest and as part of the supply chain, the three security objectives of confidentiality, integrity and availability should be guaranteed. Business data, customer and prototype data must be protected against unauthorized access to maintain the trust of customers and business partners. Efficient business continuity management helps to be prepared for emergencies and minimize the damage to business, customers and partners.
