In 2013 ISS carried out two Professional Development Courses on IT/Cyber Security. The first one took place in May and June with 15 participants from 11 countries - Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Poland, Russian Federation, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, US. The second one in September and November with 14 participants and again from 11 different countries from all corners of the world - Austria, Canada, Kenya, Macedonia, Malaysia, Poland, Russian Federation, South Africa, Thailand, Ukraine and UK.
The course has been designed as the teach-the-teachers' course following the NS22 module "IT/Cyber Security" of the IAEA Educational Programme in Nuclear Security NSS12. Topics include information security, network security, computer security in nuclear facilities and computer security architecture, access control, authentication and cryptography, intrusion detection and information recovery. During the first week of the course various practical exercises and case studies take place. During the second week where participants will present their teaching concepts on different chapters of the NS22 textbook. In 2014 another PDC on IT/Cyber Security, the fourth one in total, will take place in March and May.
